School Site Press work with Alkira Secondary College to create their new & improved website!
Hello! My name is Neil Forrester and I am the business owner of School Site Press. I’ve been working with Rico Paris at Aklira Secondary College for a number of years and helped them create their previous website which had served them well but it was definitely time for an update
It was time to give their website visitors a better online impression. Fortunately, for Alkira I developed School Site Press which provides schools and colleges with an affordable & customisable website platform.
Having worked with Alkira Secondary College in the past gave them the confidence to work with me because we have trust between us. I travelled up to visit them and discuss their new website requirements. As it happens, it was also my first visit to Alkira and my chance to meet Rico (the IT Manager), the Principal (Mr John Shaw) and other staff members.
We sat down and discussed what they all wanted from a new school website design. It was agreed they wanted something new and vibrant. They wanted their new school website to have a modern design, be mobile friendly and most importantly be easy to use.
I gave Rico (and the others) a demonstration of the School Site Press platform and displayed them how simple it is to create & edit pages, add news articles, add a file downloads, image galleries and events etc. Creating engaging page layouts is quick using pre-designed content modules. Administrators just need to add the actual words or images.
Rico and Principal John Shaw were impressed with School Site Press and could see how much easier & quicker it would be to make webite updates using our platform.
Providing Alkira a new school website design
Before Alkira Secondary College could signup for our school website design platform, they first had to obtain quotes from other school website design firms to ensure our offer was competative.
Each quote was reviewed by the school council for cost, services provided and ongoing customer service. Thankfully, Alkira’s school council could see the benefits & advantages of School Site Press, including our very affordable price point!
Working with schools and providing payment options
School Site Press subscriptions were originally set up to be monthly and paid by credit card. When we began working with Alkira we realised that we would need to offer additional payment options as most schools want to provide a purchase order and pay via bank transfer.
Customers can now pay for School Site Press with the following options:
- Monthly
- Quarterly
- Yearly
- With a purchase order number.
- Direct debit via credit card.
- Direct bank transfer.
First month FREE for new school website design customers
I decide to offer first month free to new customers to encourage schools to get onboard and to also give them a grace period while their new website is created on our platform.
Once Alkira Secondary College were signed up, we created a staging platform to create their new website without incurring any disruption to their current site. I worked closely with Rico, setting up the core components of the site such as logo, colours, website page sitemap etc. Once everything was in place, Rico began adding the website content following our tutorials. When Rico need needed a little help we worked together to get it sorted quickly.
Going live!
Finally, we made new Alkira Secondary College website live on Friday 22nd October 2021. Rico has let me know that all feedback has been positive! Both staff and parents love the new school website design and so do we!
I have to say that I am very thankful to Rico Paris & Alkira Secondary College for working with School Site Press and being our first customer. It verifies that all of the hard work put into creating the School Site Press platform has been worth it.
